We explored how our lungs work then followed an instructional video to make a model with our learning partner. We used 3 straws, 3 balloons, a plastic bottle and some play dough. When we pull the balloon at the bottom of the bottle (the diaphragm) down the lungs inflate and when we release the balloon, the lungs deflate.
